Enjoyed the day visit to Williamsburg and Jamestown. WOW I don't think I paid any attention to history during school. I had no idea that Jamestown was the first settlement of

English settlers and all of the difficulties they faced in 1604. I was totally impressed with the park service and how nice everything looked and how those giving the information out were excited about what they were talking about.

We met some very nice park service employees while there. The artifacts that are being found are incredible and they continue to find more.

I got Joe in the shackles as you can see. Enjoyed seeing him that way even though it was for a short time.

Today we hope to get to the Cold Harbor area for a day hike then back to make dinner and do laundry prior to heading out towards the blue ridge parkway tomorrow.
