** Started our day heading northwest towards Amarillo, TX around 8 am.
It was quite interesting seeing how much cotton was being grown and then at the number of oil drilling and wells we seen. You could smell the oil in the air in certain areas, especially the lower valleys. UGH.:( This picture shows the oil storage and the wind mill farm in the background. Oxy moron? No... Just MONEY !
You would think the fields were snow because they stretched out over the land to no end. The cotton was even on the sides of the roads. Joe was in seventh heaven after having the tour of the cotton gin outside of Salem, Ala
bama. We decided to head to the OLD ROUTE 66 Highway to get some photo ops. So here we are ready to head west (this time for sure ) :D)
