Made good time today. Headed out from Lincoln, NE this morning at 7 am and arrived at Joe's sisters dairy farm at 2 pm. Lots of corn in Iowa also ~!~ and rolling hills. Today brought some funny looks from others as usual, but I told Joe I plan to try and photo a few of those drivers during our travels. Seen wind generating farms in Nebraska and Iowa. Here's a photo of one.
Upon arrival at Marge's our Uncles and Aunts (Joe's Dad's siblings) were here - they had drove out after lunch just for the ride. Les is the youngest and he's 82 and was driving. Minnie is the oldest and she's 96 or 97. It was great to catch them here when we arrived. Now we are having a birthday BBQ for Marge (yesterday's birthday girl) then off to Steve's to hit the rack before joining the Jerry's Race for the cure Muscular Dystrophy in Verona Saturday AM at 8. We'll do the 5K run/walk and see lots of Joe's cousins who will be there. MD was the cause of death for two of Joe's cousins, so this is a special walk for us. The walk was started about 4 years ago by one of the Palmer cousins and it has grown to be quite big. Will take photos for the blog. Later, :D
Hi Joe and JoAnn - I just caught up on all your postings, and I am THRILLED to follow along with your trip! It sounds like you are enjoying EVERY SINGLE MOMENT. and oh the moments you have been having! I have a favor, if it should be convienent at all - IF you hit any wal marts, would you look in the hot wheel section for Hot Wheel CONNECT Cars? There is one for each state,my request is just for any of those that might be toward the east and south east and never will hit out here! If this is any kind of a possibility that you might look, let me know. I will call your cell to be more specific! I KNOW your space is tight, and I sure don't mean to impose (TOO MUCH!!) ReplyDeleteWe were so happy you brought your pint sized car this way and to have you here! We all had many great times and laughs! Especially the ladder golf (aka ___toss)watching JoAnn was a hoot!! So sad to see you go - knowing it will be a while before we see each other again. That is unless JoAnn gets even more techyyyy and adds Skype to her lap top so then you could see others while talking to them at the same time. (JoAnns new profession road teckkkkie)

So JoAnn, you know how much of a hard time that you gave to Joe about his billfold, I guess this is Joes turn to give you a hard time. You might run out of clothes if you leave some at everyplace you visit. How about a pair of Cobo shorts have you seen them lately? Maybe if you gave me an address of a future stop I could mail them there?
